Research - Pricing, Dating, Naming

With regards to pricing within the music magazine industry costs are very similiar from production to production - Looking at Q, Mojo, Uncut and The Word only a small range of 90p varies from the largest priced magazine, to the smallest. All of the above mentioned brands produce monthly issues thus can justify the high average mean charge of £4.40.

Research into the naming provides interesting results. Q magazine derives it's name from originally being called Cue (as in the sense of cueing a record, ready to play), but the name was changed simplified to Q so that it wouldn't be mistaken for a snooker magazine. Meanwhile, the publishers of Mojo - Emap were looking for a title which would cater for the burgeoning interest in classic rock music thus deciding on Mojo -Mojo itselfs modern meaning is regarded as usage of metaphorically referring to possessing a "magic touch" of creativity or charm.
